How Two Young Dutch Entrepreneurs Are Challenging The Outdoor Industry

Cortèz Outerwear represents a disruptive development in outdoor apparel production and distribution.

With crowd-funding as the key to launching in 2017, the Amsterdam-based company focuses on producing outer and fleece jackets for outdoor recreation across a range of active disciplines, selling direct to consumers worldwide.

It was set up in 2016 by a trio with a diverse range of skills, experience and resources.
Fashion entrepreneurs Wouter de Roy van Zuidewijn and Wiebe Poelmann had established Sqetch, a subscription-based online platform for connecting fashion brands and clothing manufacturers, in 2015.
Wiebe’s father Herman Poelmann is co-founder and chairman of Vert Asia, the holding company of Vert-Fashion-Company, a manufacturer of outerwear, fashion, workwear, outdoor and skiwear established in 2003, specializing in small to mid-volume production runs.
